More Wedding Cakes

So I have some more wedding cakes to share with all of you! The first cake is a three tier cake with blue bows and blingy brooches. The color blue was chosen to represent the "something blue" in the wedding. I love this idea for incorporating blue. I also, think that this cake would be really wonderful for a winter wedding! Enjoy!
I love the way the brooches came out. I didn't have a particular brooch in mind when I made them, I just kind of went with what I liked.
The next cake, is a large modern cake, that was inspired by a cake done by the "Cake Girls". I love the look of this cake, especially the contrast of the brown and pink. I think the square tiers with the stencil give the cake a modern look. Love it!

Well I hope you enjoyed these two wedding cakes, and let us know what you think! We have a lot of things to share with you coming up so stay tuned!

Romantic and Modern Wedding Cakes

I wanted to share some wedding cakes with all of you that we have done recently. First, is a cake that was inspired by a dress that I saw online. I love all of the pleating and draping on this cake; I think it has a very romantic feel to it. I used the color ivory, champagne, and pink, so that the cake was soft and subtle, then I let the cakes design be bold and beautiful. I like to use a corset tier on cakes, because I think it gives a dramtic look and feel to a cake. Overall I am very happy with how this design came together. The pictures were taken by the very talented Lisa Ceron, who also took the photos from this shoot.
All of the brooches and gems are made from sugar and cast into molds.
This has to be my favorite tier! I love the billowing effect, even though it takes a long time to achieve on a cake.

Next, is a very modern and bold cake, that I just love. I dare say that this might be one of my favortie cakes, because of its simplicity. I love how the flowers pop off the cake, and I love the simple modern design on each tier. The flowers for this cake were done with no particular flower in mind, they do resemble the ranuculus, but I like to call them cabbage roses. I did not place a topper on this cake, so that the bride and groom could place their own topper on it. Enjoy!
Isn't the color fantastic? Love it!

Well I hope you enjoyed these two wedding cakes! Thanks for stopping by, and please let us know what you think of them by leaving a comment.

Racing 40th Birthday

When I was asked by my sister-in-law to make a cake for long-time boyfriend's 40th birthday, I was so excited. The theme for the party was drag racing since that was his hobby, and she wanted the cake to look exactly like the car he currently races. I also wanted to do a dessert table for the event since I knew that a car cake would not feed the 70 people that had RSVP'd to the event.

The cake was pretty much done all by my husband. I know he is so talented isn't he? The photos do not do this cake justice. You cannot see all of the door paneling details and things that he added to really make the car come to life.

The dessert table was a challenge because I did not want to make it to childish but wanted to keep within the theme of racing. I used my more modern cake plates and serving dishes and kept all of the dessert signage as adult-like as possible. I think I achieved a good balance, and was happy with the outcome. For the table, I made chocolate cupcakes, s'more pops, chocolate covered pretzels, cheesecake bites, vanilla/strawberry dessert shooters, and an assortment of cookies and candies for the children. I hope you enjoy the table!

We placed the cake on a wooden crate which, we then covered with a tablecloth so that the cake would not be lost behind all of the desserts.
Awesome cake that read: Happy Birthday 40th Chris! It's all downhill racing from here!
Here is the birthday boy cutting his cake with his daughter and niece watching!
Hope you all enjoyed this party. Let me know what you thought of the dessert table by leaving me some comments. Did I achieve the look I was going for with the table and decorations? I hope Chris had a very Happy Birthday and I enjoyed being a part of it!

Sweet Eats Cakes supply rentals

So, a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that I had the pleasure of having my cakes, and supplies shot for my new website. I just wanted to share some of the photos with all of you! I made all of the desserts for the shoot, so I could display some of my great cake plates! Of course, the cakes, and supplies pictured, are all available for rent here. The pictures were taken by the very talented Lisa Ceron, who is just finishing photography school now, so look for her in the next couple of years!

I love the erasable chalkboard that I found, it is so unique, and could be used for many things!

The wedding sign is just a prop leftover from my own wedding. It is not actually for rent.
I hope you enjoyed some of the photos from this shoot (More coming soon!) Please check out our website, as we continue to update it everyday!

Bridal Show

I wanted to share our first ever bridal show with all of you. We (my husband and myself) had a blast meeting all of the brides and the vendors. The bridal show was held at the gorgeous Inn at Roops Mill and hosted by Kimberly Brooke Photography.

Below is the space that we set-up for the show and I think it looked pretty good for our first time. My wonderful brother-in-law made the wooden pedestals to display my cakes. My lovely husband cut and placed the vinyl to display our name on the pedestals, and we printed pictures to hang on the sides to complete the look. I think they looked fabulous! My husband, also came through on the awesome sign that he had made at his work! Lastly, I want to thank my wonderful Aunt for sewing all of the table linens for me! It is good to know people! I hope you enjoy!

Close-up of a slice of cake cut from the wedding cake!

I really loved the way the display turned out!

Here is some action from the show!
We had a great time meeting with everyone!

Hope everyone had a good time at the show! I want to thank all of the brides that stopped by to meet us and, also special thanks to Kimberly Brooke Photography, and the Unveiled Bridal Show!
