Owen's not so scary Mickey Mouse Halloween Birthday

I am so excited to share this party with all of you because it is my nephew's 2nd birthday party! I have been planning his dessert table for months now, and I absolutely loved the way it came out. We decided on a Mickey Mouse Halloween theme for the party and desserts. I worked really hard to pull together a cohesive design for the table and decor. The desserts for the table included dirt cake shooters, cinnamon sugar cookies, spooky spider red velvet cupcakes, and chocolate covered Oreos. For the cake I really wanted to do something fun so I decided to do the characters dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes. I made all of the decor for the table including the Happy Birthday banner, the OWEN sign, the Mickey mummy wreath, the dessert table labels and paper pinwheels. I had so much fun planning and executing this table especially since it was for my favorite little guy!

My nephew Owen loves cookies so of course I had to make some for him. The two big pumpkin cookies in the front I made especially for him to enjoy and he loved them.

We added ghost faces to all of the meringues to add to the festivities!
Here is the sign I made out of wood letters that I painted to match the theme.
Last month while we were in Disney I stood in line to get a special Birthday wish from Mickey for Owen.
My mother found these cute spider decorations for the cupcakes so we had spooky spider cupcakes, and a spider web cupcake holder for them.
Close-up of all the characters! First up Mickey mummy!
 Minnie witch!
Frankenstien Goofy!
Devil Donald!

In typical party fashion I totally forgot to capture any pictures during the party once I started playing with Owen. I am so bad with that! I did manage to get a few shots of him on opening his gifts and one of all three of us before we cut the cake.

Isn't he the cutest!

Love him!
Happy Birthday Owen! I hope you loved your cake. I can't wait to do it all over again next year! In case you missed Owen's 1st Birthday extravaganza you can check that out here. I love to see how much he has changed and grown over the year!  Don't forget to check out my Pinterest board for many more great Halloween inspired birthday ideas.

Mariel and Ryan's Engineer's Club Wedding

I had the pleasure of designing a cake for Mariel and Ryan's wedding at the Engineer's Club in September. The wedding was absolutely stunning and the cake matched the venue perfectly.  Marcella Treybig Photography was nice enough to share some of the cake photos with me so I wanted to share them with all of you. (The first two photos are ones I captured of Mariel while setting up the cake. She was so excited she came out to see the cake.)This wedding was featured last week on Charm City Wed  so be sure to check out all of the stunning details, and there.

When Mariel and Ryan came in for their tasting Mariel brought tons on great ideas with her. I was able to incorporate everything she wanted on the cake and give it my own touch. I love when a bride knows what she wants, but is also open to ideas. We decided to go with a five tier cake because they wanted something that made a grand statement. We incorporated pleating and gold leaves on two tiers of the cake and a purple imprinted band that was painted gold on another two tiers. The middle tier had a gold imprinted band to tie the whole thing together. Mariel and Ryan's colors were purple and gold, to match their venue. It was such a pleasure to work with Mariel and her family, and I hope I get to work with them in the future!
Beautiful Bride looking down at her cake!
How gorgeous is this? Such a spectacular set-up!

One of my favorites of the cake.

I love this photo of the groom!

Congratulations Mariel and Ryan. It was such a pleasure to get to share in your special day! Thanks again to Marcella Treybig Photography for letting me share all of these awesome photos.

Elizabeth and Seth's Tremont Grand Wedding

I had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth and Seth for their September wedding at The Tremont Grand Hotel in Baltimore. There were so many great vendors that helped make their day extra special. Jennifer Bollino from Perskie Photographics and Design took some amazing pictures of their big day and was nice enough to let me share them. Their wedding could not have been more beautiful, the attention to detail was amazing and the venue looked spectacular! Enjoy!

I love this picture of the brides first look at the cake.
For the cake Elizabeth and Seth wanted to make a grand statement. Elizabeth decided to go with a cascade of sugar flowers to match her bridal bouquet. The cake was a five tier buttercream cake with scroll work and a diamond impression on alternating tiers. Of course the main focus of the cake was the floral cascade with pink and lavender roses, Picasso calla lilies, purple hydrangeas, purple lisianthus, and purple dendrobium. This cake was a labor of love but, I absolutely loved the way it turned out, and it fit perfectly into the venue.

I love the pictures of the floral centerpieces with the cake in the background.

Cheers!
I hope you enjoyed this look at this gorgeous wedding! Take a look below for some of the great vendors!
