Oktoberfest in Havre de Grace Maryland

It has been quite some time since I updated the blog but with the move to Havre de Grace this past year we have been quite busy. I am going to try to update more frequently now that we are settled into our new space.

With that being said I wanted to update everyone on a fun event going on here in town.  This weekend at Hutchins Park. Havre de Grace will be celebrating Oktoberfest with German beer, wine, music and lots of fun for the whole family.

The event will run from 2-7pm in the park and will feature the Bavarian dance group of the Delaware Saengerbund along with and many other merchants selling great items.

We will have a booth set up in the kids zone selling our paint your own sugar cookies, along with lots of other sweets including cake pops, chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate chip cookies.

The weather is supposed to be great for this Saturday 10/15/16 and there should be a lot of fun and festivities for all ages.

Don't forget to stop in downtown and visit all the local shops and start some Christmas shopping early. Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend. Hope you can make it out!

Cameron's Elephant Themed First Birthday

I wanted to share this super sweet elephant themed birthday party. The party was for Amber's second son Cameron's first birthday! if you have been following the blog for any amount of time you will know that I have made all of Amber's first sons cakes and so the tradition continues and I could not be happy to be a part of it!
Amber wanted an elephant themed party in light blue, gray and white. She picked the desserts she wanted and allowed me to decorate them in the corresponding theme. I also made the backdrop and hanging tassels for the table.

The cake was buttercream with an edible mini elephant on top.

I made a set of cookies to match the theme.

Cupcakes were made by Amber with cute elephant toppers!

Other desserts included cake pops, raspberry and pineapple cheesecakes and chocolate covered pretzels.

Amber always does a fabulous job decorating and adding special touches to her kids parties!

  Happy family!

Happy Birthday Cameron! I hope it was a special one for you! Special thanks to Amber for the pictures and  for letting me be a part of his little mans day!

Brielle's Pretty and Pink First Birthday

I am so excited to share this pretty pink first birthday dessert table we did for Brielle's first birthday. I usually get to do a lot of boy birthdays so it was fun to make everything pink and girly for a change. The theme was cupcakes and the colors were pink and purple so we made everything super pink and girly. For the dessert table I made chocolate cupcakes, strawberry push pop shooters complete with tutus, strawberry milks with cookies, and rice cereal treats in the shape of cupcakes. We also made the backdrop for the desserts table and all the little tutus for the push pops. I love the way the display turned out and hope I get to make more girl themed dessert tables in the future.

Close-up of the little tutus we made for the push pops!

Baby girl getting a sneak peak at the table.

She was intrigued by the cake but was unsure what to do with it.
She ended up just picking off and eating the sprinkles instead of smashing it.

Happy 1st Birthday Brielle! i hope we get to be a part of many many more!

Stephen and Michael's Bulle Rock Wedding

So I have been meaning to share some more weddings on the blog this year but have been pretty busy around here. I wanted to share Stephen and Michael's wedding with you from this past June because their wedding was spectacular. Stephen is a local vendor friend who runs Simply Grand Events and does floral and event design so you know his wedding was going to be amazing! He did not disappoint with decor and flowers. The reception set-up was spectacular and I was glad to be apart of his event. All photos are courtesy of John Zito Photography.

Stephen and Michael held their reception at Bulle Rock Residence Club in Harve de Grace, Maryland. If you have never been there the space is wonderful and perfectly suited for an upscale wedding.

Isn't the head table set-up amazing!

Look at all the wonderful floral displays Steve set-up for his own wedding.
I love the choice of table clothes!

Steve and Mike chose to do a full dessert table with a cake as the centerpiece. The desserts included blueberry dessert shooters, mini cheesecakes with fresh raspberries, coconut cake pops, and vanilla meringue cookies. For the cake we designed a five tier cake with light blue stenciling on two tiers. We decided to make the middle tier light blue to match the stencil for a pop of color. I also made whimsical flowers with silver buttons centers. I love the way the cake turned out and I think it fit in the space perfectly.

 Time to cut the cake!

Looks like everyone had an amazing time!
Some more shots of the dessert table set-up.

Thanks to John Zito Photography for letting me share all these wonderful photos, and special thanks to Steve and Mike for letting me be a part of your special day.
